My Story


I was born and raised in the small towns of Eastern Oregon. Because our family moved several times, I learned to respect and work with people from all walks of life. 

I attended Eastern Oregon University and traveled to Arizona where I earned a BA in journalism from the University of Arizona. After working on newspapers for a short time, I landed a job with the Multnomah Athletic Club, a 23,000-member platinum club in Portland, Oregon.

I was with MAC, for more than 25 years, and I was promoted four times including the position of communications and marketing director. My core accomplishment was evolving and expanding the communications department to become a full in-house agency supporting athletics, food and beverage, facilities, social activities, membership, volunteer services, human resources, and business services. While at MAC, my department helped the club become one of the top three platinum clubs in the United States. 

When I was not working, or spending time with my family, I was volunteering for non-profits, involved in local government, working on small business projects, and exploring my fishing passion. I was a pioneer in kayak fly fishing and my experiences are recorded at www.KayakFlyAngler.com. My YouTube channel, includes a wide variety of fishing adventures and information on more than 100 videos. I also do speaking engagements, teaching, social media, and have written articles for regional publications. 

After leaving the MAC, I spent a short time consulting with small businesses including Face the Current media group, and helping expand a Hobie kayak fishing program with West Coast Sailing. 

Currently, I am working with a marine service company, RPM Marine Service LLC, and Vercoe Yacht Sales where my responsibilities include marketing and communications strategy, customer service, sales, business development, human resources, special projects, vendor relations, contracts, sourcing, pricing, invoicing, billing, and operations.
