Photography has always been a passion and focus of mine. I studied photojournalism at the University of Arizona and won the journalism department's Jack Shaeffer photojournalism award. I also competed against newspapers across Arizona to won Associated Press awards for photography and layout as the photo and design editor for the The Daily Wildcat. I also was the first Photo/Design Editor for the paper.

In my journalism career, I worked at the La Grande Observer, East Oregonian, and Associated Press, and several college newspapers.

My work has also been in publications and websites across the country including the Wall Street Journal, and The New York Times. When I moved to Arizona, I took a year off from college and worked as an assistant for one of Tucson's most successful portrait and wedding photographers. There I improved my lighting and composition skills as well as learning how art and business work together.

At the club, I took thousands of photos and many covers for the Multnomah Athletic Club monthly magazine, The Winged M. Because I enjoy people, some of my best work is in portraiture.

I expanded into video and YouTube Channel after I launched my blog, www.KayakFlyAngler.com. My channels feature adventure and instructional videos, often using multiple cameras.
